Born in Mesudiye in 1973, Sezgin Özşahines is the youngest son of Korean War veteran Ömer Özşahines.
In the early 2000s, he pioneered drip irrigation in the village — a technological transition that significantly raised maize and sunflower yields against the July-August drought that historically threatened these crops.
He also introduced bottle-feeding for newborn calves (an unusual practice in traditional cattle-raising) and weaning-separation methods that improved both calf survival rates and milk production. His modernisation programme made Mesudiye one of the more agriculturally advanced villages in its district.

The youngest son of Ömer Özşahines, a gazi (war veteran) of the Korean War. Working as a professional farmer in Mesudiye, he carries on the village's farming tradition.
Sezgin Özşahines came into the world in Mesudiye in 1973. His father is the gazi Ömer Özşahines, who was taken prisoner in the Korean War and lived through roughly 3 years of captivity. He grew up in Mesudiye as the youngest son of the Özşahines family.
Continuing Mesudiye's tradition of farming and livestock raising as a professional farmer, Sezgin Özşahines is one of the village's active residents. Besides bringing the first drip irrigation system to the village, he has also carried out pioneering practices in livestock raising: he was the first person in the village to separate newborn calves from their mothers and raise them outside, and to feed calves with a bottle. These methods are among the fundamental practices of modern livestock raising and allow calves to grow in a healthier and more controlled way. On the land to which his father Ömer Özşahines returned after war and captivity, he keeps the family legacy alive through farming and livestock raising.
