Sezgin Özşahines
Professional Farmer (1973-)
Youngest son of Korean War veteran Ömer Özşahines. Introduced drip irrigation, bottle-fed calf rearing, and weaning-separation farming methods to Mesudiye village.
Born in Mesudiye in 1973, Sezgin Özşahines is the youngest son of Korean War veteran Ömer Özşahines.
In the early 2000s, he pioneered drip irrigation in the village — a technological transition that significantly raised maize and sunflower yields against the July-August drought that historically threatened these crops.
He also introduced bottle-feeding for newborn calves (an unusual practice in traditional cattle-raising) and weaning-separation methods that improved both calf survival rates and milk production. His modernisation programme made Mesudiye one of the more agriculturally advanced villages in its district.
